Six Flags Announces Huge Line Up of New Rides

Up first, let’s talk about how Six Flags Great Adventure is getting a new rollercoaster. This will be a boomerang type of coaster called The Flash: Vertical Velocity and is being made by Intamin. There’s only one other model currently built and that’s located in China.

Also at Six Flags Great Adventure, they are adding ‘glamping’ to the park! This will be a unique type of hotel attached to the safari part of the park, where guests can view animals at their leisure. There will be spa services, VIP dining, and more in this unique experience!

Six Flags Great Escape is getting a brand new rollercoaster! Located above Albany, New York, this Six Flags park has not received a new coaster in over 15 years! Sadly, they are tearing down their bobsled coaster to make room for this new addition. Speaking of which, I was invited to check out their park last weekend and I had a blast at it! They let me film on all the rides I wanted after getting my equipment thoroughly vetted for safety.

Here’s the vlog of my trip to the park, you’ll find plenty of POV’s.

I’ll have additional videos of my visit including their awesome hotel that includes an indoor water park. It literally blew my mind that Six Flags had such a property like this in their chain and I believe anyone with a Six Flags pass needs to visit the park and stay in the hotel!

Six Flags Great America and Six Flags St Louis are both getting a new pendulum flat ride(featured above is the one coming to Six Flags Great America). These rides will reach speeds of up to 75 mph and have a maximum height of 172 feet. I’ve never been on this type of ride before so might have to eventually make an exception to try one out!

Six Flags Fiesta Texas is probably getting the most exciting rides though! They are getting two flat rides(a Zamperla Nebula and a drop tower) as well as a monorail!

The monorail ride will be called Metropolis Transit Authority and will probably cement this park as being the most unique in the chain. This ride just sounds like a blast, its not every day that a theme park adds a monorail to their line up.

Six Flags Over Georgia is getting an Ultra Surf coaster from Intamin! This will be the first of its kind. Riders will board a surfboard while facing multiple launches before their journey culminates in a watery splash! This ride announcement was announced during an ACE event at the park.

Six Flags Over Texas will be converting their side by side log flume rides into a single log flume ride! Fun fact, they actually had the world’s first log flume ride! This new log flume ride will be almost double the length, feature a new lift hill and two big drops! This should make an incredible log flume experience.

I Went On A Podcast

It was a really fun experience I had with the Coaster Cuzzies podcast. One of the things we talked about was what we would do with $250,000 at a theme park. My answers got very mischievous, you’ll just have to listen in to hear what I would do!

Also, I’ve been a long time listener to the Coaster Cuzzies, so if you are looking for a theme park podcast to listen to while you drive, do chores, and whatnot; consider listening to them! They have over 142 great episodes!
