Disney Reveals Animatronics for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Recently Disney revealed details on their animatronics for their upcoming ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. These animatronics look quite good!

In a snippet of the video they released, you can actually get a sneak preview of a list that includes a large portion of animatronic names and what scene they will show up in on the ride.

From what I’ve seen in the video, they are not half-assing these animatronics and going very high tech and detailed in making them.

Disney World Starts Moving Forward on Expansion Plans

Disney World is moving forward with expansion plans for the Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. For the Animal Kingdom, permits have been filed to construct a new parking lot and 5 trailers in the backlot. These trailers will be where imagineers and the construction team meet regularly to go over and monitor the progress of construction.

For the Animal Kingdom, we know that Dinoland USA is being replaced with an Encanto themed land, Dinosaur is being rethemed to Indiana Jones, and there might be a Coco area of the land.

As for the Magic Kingdom, we’re not 100% sure what’s going to happen here. They had originally announced that Encanto would go here but it’s not anymore. Could this be a Villains themed land? I’m sure we’ll find out at D23!

From The Editor

It’s a very Disney heavy news week in this email. The just have released so much information the last week or two!

First Look at Potential Avatar Land at Disneyland

During the shareholder call, Disney recently announced what an Avatar themed land could look like at their Disneyland Resort if Disneyland Forward was approved by Anaheim. I personally hate this announcement because nothing is set in stone and they can change plans at any moment.

Still, it would be incredibly cool to go to a new area from the Avatar universe, as what’s pictured above isn’t what’s been made at Animal Kingdom’s Avatar land.

New Scenes Unveiled for Star Tours

Disney continues to update its Star Tours attraction with scenes from the latest Star Wars films/shows. In the latest update, it will feature scenes from Ahsoka, Andor, and The Mandalorian. From what I’ve read, there is only one new planet sequence from Ahsoka. The rest of the scenes involve Ahsoka talking to the crew(maybe as an introduction), Cassian Andor doing the same, and the Mandalorian/Grogu talking as well.

Test Track at Epcot Announces Official Closure for Re-Theming

Disney has announced that the Test Track we currently know will be closed June 17th for a massive re-theme. This new re-theme will take inspiration by the World of Motion ride that it had replaced back in 1999. In addition, there might be some sort of history component with the newly imagined ride.

It appears that Chevrolet will continue to be the sponsor of the attraction when it is re-themed. From what we can tell of this concept art, the gigantic canopy that currently covers the entrance will be removed. That cover was prone to rips and tears from high winds and hurricanes.

News At A Glance

  • Worlds of Fun have partnered with a local children’s hospital to provide their patients/families with complimentary admission to the park

  • Cedar Point posts rules about Top Thrill 2. No loose articles are permitted past the entrance and there will a metal detector to ensure this.

  • Valleyscare is coming back! In case you didn’t know, they took it away and changed the Halloween even to more of a family event. However, this year the official scare event is back!

Real Madrid World Opens

Abruptly, Dubai’s newest theme park opened this week. Real Madrid World opened its doors without having previously announced it would be opening. This theme park is a re-theme of the former Bollywood park at the Dubai Parks & Resorts area.

Usually parks build up hype around their opening with press releases, snippets of their rides, and more. But this park literally just said ‘We’re Open’.

This is the world’s first football theme park(soccer is what people in the U.S. would call it).
