The TEA Theme Park Attendance Report Is Out

This yearly report provided by the Themed Entertainment Association is a good gauge of theme park attendance but not 100% perfect.

The top operators is definitely skewed toward corporations that run a lot of small parks (like Merlin or Fantawild). Disney parks experienced a 17% growth since 2022, thats pretty dang huge, but Universal also experienced similar growth.

To the best of my knowledge, The Magic Kingdom or Disneyland have always been the number 1 visited park in the world every year this report has come out.

Chimelong Ocean Kingdom is one of the largest parks in China that just opened in 2022 I believe, so it makes sense that has seen explosive growth. Shanghai Disney has relaxed their visiting rules since Covid has been put back in check, so that also makes sense why that exploded in growth.

I’m not really sure why Hollywood Studios at Disney World experienced a 5.5% decline in attendance. Maybe the Covid rebound is finally over? Or maybe the hype around the new star wars land is over?

Islands of Adventure hasn’t had a new ride in quite a bit so it makes sense that park has decreased in attendance and probably the Covid rebound being over as well.

The full report is very interesting and full of some great insight into the industry. If you want to read it, Click Here.

Our First Look at the new Transformers Coaster!

While this coaster will be small, it’s significant because it’s going to be the world’s first Axis coaster. This new type of coaster from S&S could provide some very interesting forces throughout the ride. This coaster is just one of many investments the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia is making to attract tourists to the country.

Next week I’ll be visiting HHN for the first time this year and I’ll come back with my full report! I managed to get a private RIP tour, so I should be able to hit up every maze at least 5 times each!

Also, sorry if this email feels rushed(it is). I’ve been swamped this week with work!

A New Vekoma Coaster Coming to Santa’s Village (in Canada)

I’m in a rush so I don’t have too much to add to this! Watch their video, its pretty cool!

Last week I asked if you’re excited for Epic Universe, the overwhelming majority said you were super excited. Some said excited and neutral, but no one said anything negative about it.

Hersheypark Announces New Ride: Twizzlers Twisted Gravity.

This will be a 137 foot tall swing ride, and guests will reach speeds of up to 68 mph! I think this might be the tallest one int he world but dont quote me on that!

I like that parks arn’t just focusing on rollercoaster but instead building flat rides like this one. It helps add a little some extra to parks when it’s not all coasters.
