New Coaster Announced, A Scary Haunt, and More!

Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail

The other week I was invited out as part of media to check out this haunt even near Plant City, Florida (in between Orlando and Tampa). Luckily I was blessed by the I4 gods and it was an easy trip with no traffic!

The event itself was quite good. It’s an independent haunt(not run by a corporation or large company) and is able to do stuff that Universal/Cedar Fair can’t do at their haunts. This involved sets that were really dark and spooky, scare actors in places you normally wouldn’t think to look, and so much more.

Here’s our vlog of the event:

But we also have an article that you can read more about it on our website, Click Here.

I wouldn’t necessarily say you should fly out to go to this Halloween event like I would say about HHN, but if you’re in Florida and it’s not too far of a drive for you. Then I would strongly recommend adding it to your list of Halloween events to visit this year and in future years.

Sea World Orlando Announces new Rollercoaster

SeaWorld Orlando just announced a brand new rollercoaster and here's everything we know about it so far. Everyone has known they are building a coaster for quite some time but the park finally released details on what it is they are building.

It will be the 8th rollercoaster at the park, and the 5th B&M rollercoaster at the park. The ride will be 3,020 feet in length and take guests both indoors and outside. It will reach a max speed of 43 mph.

The name of this ride will be Penguin Trek as it will inhabit the same building that the penguins currently live in. This ride replaces the Empire of the Penguin dark ride that shut down back in 2020.

The coolest feature of this ride will be the finale, where guests will actually be right next to the penguin exhibit while in the rollercoaster vehicle

It's expected to have a minimum height requirement of 42 inches, making this a very family friendly coaster. If you want to get early access to ride this coaster, be sure to buy an annual pass to the park

From The Editor

Last month I did terrible in sending out this newsletter. I think I sent out 1 issue last month (yikes!) #LifeHappens

I think i’ll be able to send out a newsletter each week for the rest of the year!

This last month I’ve been to some pretty fun places: Universal Studios HHN event, Discovery Cove, Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail, and a daytime tour of the houses of HHN. Most of that content isn’t ready to be published yet but you’ll see it over the next few issues

Lots of Disney Parks News!

Last month was a small D23 event at Disney World and they had a lot of news for the parks and cruise lines. There’s so much news, I cant fit it all in this newsletter, so check out two great videos from Mickey Views who does a great job at covering Disney news.

Six Flags Great Escape Auctions Jamaican Bobsled Vehicle

Six Flags Great Escape recently auctioned off their Jamaican bobsled vehicle from Alpine Bobsled. This ride has been seen being torn down to make way for a brand new family wooden rollercoaster at the park. I was lucky enough to ride it before it was torn down and got some sweet POV’s of the ride. If you want to check out my day at the park, here’s my vlog.

reply back to this email with the word ‘Banana’ and i’ll send the first 3 people some free stickers!

Busch Gardens Announces New Coaster

Busch Gardens Tampa just announced a brand new rollercoaster, Phoenix Rising. It will be built on the spot where Sand Serpent once stood.

The new coaster will be a family suspended coaster. It will be the park’s 10th rollercoaster and be super geared toward the family as it will only have a minimum height requirement of 42 inches.

It will also have on-board audio which will be a first for the park.

Riders will feel the rush of the wind and thrill of the flight in this suspended roller coaster that enable ride cars and riders to swing side to side as the train races along the track high above the Serengeti Plain

Last week we asked who had the best Halloween event. 50% of you said that Universal Studios (Hollywood or Orlando) had the best event. Six Flags and Cedar Fair tied for 2nd place, and Knotts Berry Farm(yes I know it’s owned by Cedar Fair but it’s in a league of its own) came in third.

How often would you want to receive these newsletters?

I'm thinking of potentially making it into shorter twice a week emails instead of super long once a week emails, let me know your thoughts!

Six Flags Launches Speedy Parking, An Upcharge

Six Flags recently rolled out an upcharge when it comes to parking, Speedy Parking. Six Flags has been on a roll when it comes to automating things at their park. You might have remembered in a previous newsletter that they are opening up Amazon’s grab and go shops in their parks. This is where tracking technology is able to see what you grabbed and charge your card.

This new system allows guests to pay for this extra service and drive in, having a camera taking a picture of your plate to verify that you paid for parking.

Even if you have a pass that comes with free parking, you still have to pay for this service. From what I can tell passholders can buy a season pass of ‘speedy parking’.

Here are the steps required to set up Speedy Parking

  1. Pre-Purchase Online and Enter Your License Plate

  2. Use Designated Speedy Parking Lane to Pull Up to the Gate

  3. Your Vehicle’s License Plate will be Scanned, Drive Through to Park Your Vehicle

  4. Enter the Park for a Great Six Flags Day!

Why is Six Flags doing this? Well, usually their lines for parking are terrible so this will surely help speed up the process. It could also lead to some additional revenue as smart passholders will pay for this to avoid lines to get into the park. I think this is a great idea and hopefully it gets added into the cost of a pass since it will eventually help the park save money by having less parking attendants.

News At A Glance

  • First Nerf themed land will open at Beto Carrero World in Brazil on Oct. 12th

  • Santa Cruz Boardwalk to receive two new rides, a ferris wheel and a small spinning flat called the ‘surge’.

  • Walt Disney World recently came out with a seasonal pass for their water parks that is $10 more than a regular day ticket. It’s only good for the off months so don’t expect to go in the summer with it.
