Cedar Fair Announces Merger Plans With Six Flags

In what quickly evolved from a rumor last week to a reality, it was announced that Cedar Fair and Six Flags intend to merge into one company. There are a ton of details to this and we actually wrote an article about it that you can read more here.

From what I’ve seen, they do not plan on changing any parks names and there most likely won’t be a new pass in 2024.

Xcelerator Back Open At Knott’s Berry Farm

After a very long hiatus in getting repaired, it appears that Xcelerator is once again back open. Our Knotts Berry Farm group on Facebook has reported it running once again!

Although some members have reported it is still having downtime.

Also, it is only running 1 train at the moment from what I’ve heard. Meaning that the guest capacity per hour is incredibly low.

How long will this ride remain open for? Probably until something breaks again. But hopefully the park has pre-ordered additional parts ahead of time. I have heard that for some coasters, there is a large delay in when new parts can be made, so some parks make sure they have plenty of spare parts in case something breaks.

From The Editor

Wasn’t feeling that great last week so I delayed the newsletter a bit. I’ve been getting a fair amount of emails with the various bonus entries for the contest, keep em coming!

I’ve started to plan out the parks I want to visit next year. I’m definitely wanting to check out the new Mattel Park in Arizona, as well as the wildlife park they have in Phoenix. Other potential parks may include: An Australia Trip, Tokyo Trip, Dorney Park, A few Six Flags parks I havn’t been to yet, Universal Studios Hollywood, Glenwood Caverns, Sea World San Antonio, some parks in Central America, and a few more.

These plans are very fluid as it all depends on how our kiddo is doing. She just turned 8 months old as of Tuesday!

btw, we’ve almost hit 13,000 newsletter subscribers! We’re seeing some great growth and hope to continue that trend! Don’t forget, you can earn rewards by referring friends, family, or loosely acquainted college peers to this newsletter! WWE Experience Coming To Saudi Arabia

WWE announced a new experience coming to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia next year, named the ‘WWE Experience.’ It will have wrestlers from WWE make appearances, shops and more. It will start opening in January of 2024.

So far the description seems very vague and not worthy of a WWE fan flying from afar to visit. But, if they announce some really cool experiences, then I can maybe see traveling here just for this to be worth it.

HeartSong Lodge Officially Opens At Dollywood

Dollywood just recently opened a brand new resort and spa. This new lodge will drastically increase the number of rooms the park can offer to visitors. Here are some features of the new hotel:

The Cove: an outdoor pool that surrounds a cascading waterfall feature that provides a natural aesthetic to the area. There’s also a zero-depth entry for this pool, hot tub, and splash pad that is open year-round. There are also some seasonal pool-side dining options. There is also a number of fire pits around the area for guests to stay warm during colder nights.

For kids at the lodge there are a variety of arts and crafts for them to enjoy as well as storytelling and summertime pool parties

Last time I asked if you were already planning your theme park plans for next year and it was about a tied vote! For me, I definitely try to research opening dates of parks and get all my airfare in while it may remain cheap!

Cedar Point Buys Land For $1.5 million

Cedar Point recently purchased the former Fireland Chrysler Dealership for $1.5 million. The total land comes out to approximately 3 acres. The theme park has not said what it plans to do with this land.

Upon looking at the property on google maps, it seems like a pretty small location. It might be perfect for another hotel for the park. It does not look large enough to be another parking lot which I think Cedar Point needs.

What would be great is if they had some sort of parking lot off the peninsula and then a monorail (or sky basket) to get across the bridge that leads to the park. If you’ve ever visited the park during a busy day, you know traffic along this bridge can be crazyyyy and it’s definitely a sore spot for the park.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Over Georgia Both Open New Coasters

Six Flags over Georgia and Six Flags Fiesta Texas recently opened their brand new coasters both named Kid Flash Cosmic Coaster. These 4 new rollercoasters are perfect for the family and contain a very fun lighting package that makes re-rideability much better than other rides. That is because the lighting package can be changed for holidays, special events, and more!
