Marineland Is Sold, Closes All Rides for the Year

Marineland in Canada has finally been sold and is transitioning to new owners for the 2024 year. The previous rumor that it was closing for good wasn’t too off as the park will not be operating any rides for the 2024 year. Instead it will be focusing on the animals at the park.

Life always finds a way to get in my way of writing this newsletter. Hopefully that will finally change(i know i’ve said that countless times). The newsletter system we use is changing how they charge newsletters, because of that I either have to double down and put the grind into this newsletter, or potentially drastically change it. I’m leaning towards doubling down and really trying to push out at least 1 newsletter a week(maybe 2 as these newsletters are really getting long).

A few weeks ago I sent the winner of the coaster wheel his prize but forgot to mention it here. Tom McDermott, congrats on your coaster wheel! For anyone that didn’t win, you can still buy your very own coaster wheel here or just continue reading these newsletters for the next chance to win one!

Last email I asked how far are you willing to drive to a theme park and a ton of you responded! Here are the results! I cant believe how many people are willing to drive 9 hours to a park!

  • 1 hour or less - 13%

  • 1-3 hours - 32%

  • 3-5 hours - 15%

  • 6-8 hours - 13%

  • 9+ hours - 26%

Top Thrill 2 Opens To Rave Reviews

Top Thrill 2 recently opened to some amazing reviews. Here’s a list of some coaster fans that went to the media day:

From what I gathered from watching multiple videos, the coaster lives up to the OG Top Thrill but also changes it in a way that makes it it’s own beast! There are some downsides to the ride including the locker system that is paid even though its mandatory. You cannot wear any loose articles on the ride(including sandals) and they do have a metal detector.

Epic Universe Unveils Their Mario Themed Land

Universal revealed their third themed land, this one based on Super Nintendo World(that’s also the name of the land).

This land looks so cool and definitely will probably be the most crowded of all the lands when Epic Universe opens. If you want to see the complete details of this land, watch the announcement video here.

News At A Glance

  • Universal officially announces that Fast and Furious Hollywood Drift at their Hollywood park will open in 2026. This is most likely in a move that will have all focus be on Epic Universe when it opens in 2025.

  • It appears that Dollywood is working on a new hotel. They recently filed a trademark for the ‘Dolly Parton’s Songteller Hotel’ name.

  • Cedar Point has signed a contract for their next addition for 2026. This is according to an interview with Tony Clark.

  • A new VR experience is coming to Pigeon Forge, called Truth Traveler. It’s being built by the same people who made Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum.
