The Last Of Us Coming To HHN!!!

Universal recently announced the second house for Halloween Horror Nights. The Last of Us will be a house at their Halloween event. What’s interesting is that they are using game footage for advertising and not footage from the HBO tv show. It seems they are working with the game developers versus the show runners. Here’s the description for the maze:

You and your squad will encounter the haunting and overgrown world of Naughty Dog’s video game in a brand-new, terrifying way, as you make your way through an abandoned Pittsburgh. Join Joel and Ellie, and don’t make a sound if you want to survive Clickers, Hunters and more. No matter what, keep finding something to fight for.

The rumors were flying for quite some time that this would be a house for HHN. It seems that those rumors turned out to be true! I’m very excited to see how this maze will differ from Seeds of Extinction, a maze from 2018 which featured plants taking over the world.

Coming from the HBO Hit, this maze will definitely help draw in the crowds for HHN this year. Expect long lines throughout the event for this. Either rope drop this house or hit it up in the last hour of the event. Or you can buy an express pass which I think is worth it, we wrote an article last year where we compared the regular wait times to the express pass time.

SandSerpent at Busch Gardens Tampa To Close Permanently

Busch Gardens Tampa recently announced that Sand Serpent would be closing permanently on July 9th. This wild mouse coaster had originally been located at Busch Gardens Williamsburg before being moved to Tampa in 2004.

Many are speculating that the closure of this ride as well as other parts of Pantopia could be the signal that the park may be wanting to add a larger attraction to the area.

This newsletter was delayed a few days because well, i accidentally deleted it. It took some time for the newsletter host to retrieve it. oopsie

We have a ton of new shirts that came out super well from the design process! I’ll be sprinkling them throughout this newsletter and future ones. Buying a shirt really does help cover the costs of this newsletter. If you like one of our designs, know that the proceeds from it go to help fund this newsletter 😀

Last week I mentioned how I was trying to buy some roller coaster wheels from the auction happening at Dynamic Attractions. Bidding ended up being quite fierce for the items so I wasn’t able to snag everything I wanted. I was able to get around 50 roller coaster wheels and an upstop(the thing that holds the roller coaster car to the track). We’ll be selling some of these wheels, giving others out as part of contests, and probably using others to help raise funds for amazing nonprofits like Give Kids The World. Stay tuned!

This week we’ve added our coaster section breaks to every section. I was cautious of doing this as the more images you add in a newsletter, the more likely it is to hit a promotions folder or worse, a spam folder. But, I’m going to try it out for the next few newsletters and see how it goes.

Last week I asked the question whether Disneyland was too expensive. 83% of you voted that it was way too expensive, the remaining 17% was evenly split with it being perfectly priced and cheap to visit.

Be sure to look out for the hidden phrase in this weeks email! The first person that replies back to this email with it, gets some free stickers!

Big Bear Mountain Has An Ice Cream Flavor On Shelves

Apparently this is becoming a thing where theme parks are getting branded into consumable consumer products. In this case its Big Bear Mountain at Dollywood.

Meeting Up At Lost Island July 1st!

Want to meet up with us? Well you can on July 1st at Lost Island theme park in Waterloo Iowa! Crystal and I will be there all day! We want to support this new theme park which has sadly had some very bad attendance this last year. Their attendance has been slowly picking up but we still want to support it and make sure it continues to bring joy to theme park fans!

Look for us in our iconic blue glasses and be sure to say Hi! We’ll probably have a group ride of some stuff if enough people come!

Have A View Of Space With Our Time Lapse Of The Star Cruiser

We made the perfect background video for Star Wars fans. We did a timelapse video during our stay on board the Galactic Starcruiser Experience that you can now watch! We added some cool Star Wars sounding music to it. The video lasts 2 and a half hours, so its the perfect thing to have run in the background!

Mine Blower At Fun Spot Closes Shortly After Re-Opening

Last week we covered how Mine Blower at Fun Spot(whatever Florida location its at) had re-opened after getting an upgrade of some RMC track. What was suppose to make for a much more pleasant ride has made for probably the worst wooden coaster ever according to the In The Loop podcast. The transition between wood and the new track looked incredibly rough and there were gaps in between the track.

After a few days of running(and probably a metric ton of complaints) the park made the decision to close the ride. I’m not sure what their plan is now but they will probably either have to do a short term fix of getting rid of the gap or maybe just RMC’ing the whole ride??

Disney CFO Steps Down

Disney’s CFO, Christine McCarthy is stepping down from her position. She allegedly was instrumental in ousting Bob Chapek from his role as CEO.

As of July 1st, Kevin Lansberry will take over the role to serve as an Interim CFO. He’s an executive vice president and chief financial officer of Disney parks, experiences and products.

With her sudden departure, I’m wondering if she was ousted herself or if she was just feeling satisfied after ousting Bob Chapek and wanted to retire.

Monopoly Theme Park Coming To Australia

The city of Melbourne is getting a Monopoly theme park. It will cost $20 million to make and be inside a 1650 square meter space. It will be opening sometime late 2023.

This will be a micro park and won’t be too big. It’s actually the second monopoly park as the first one opened in Hong Kong back in 2019.

There will be two zones in the park, Monopoly City and Mr. Manopoly’s Mansion. Inside these two zones will be 15 attractions which will include a 4D theatre and a chance wheel.

Earn Cool Stuff By Referring Friends to the Newsletter!

You’ll soon be able to refer friends to win a coaster wheel! We’re still debating how many referrals it should require as we’ve been told a coaster wheel brand new goes for $800-$1500. It will probably be a one-off and it will be the first person to refer that many friends gets it!
