Meeting Up At Lost Island July 1st

We’re trying to get together a group of people to visit Lost Island in Waterloo Iowa on July 1st! The park is open from 10:30am to about 9pm. If we get enough people, we can get a group discount on tickets. Tickets would be roughly $46 as part of this group discount. If you’re interested, reply back to this and I’ll send you more details when we get enough people and a link to pay.

Lost Island is a brand new theme park in Iowa that needs our support. Attendance at the park has been very low since it opened last year and I want to make sure it succeeds! It really does look like a theme park with massively themed lands, rides, and walk around characters at the park. This isn’t just an ordinary amusement park.

Disneyland Paris Union Continues To Strike

Now is not the time to visit Disneyland Paris as protests continue within the park. For the last few weeks, protestors have been gathering inside of the park and blocking parade routes. The protestors come from one of the largest unions at the park and one of the things they are asking for is a $215 increase in their monthly wage.

Fuji-Q Highland Announces New Coaster, Zokkon

Fuji-Q in Japan has announced their newest coaster will open on July 20th. From what I gather from their site it appears to be a pay per ride experience of 2,000 yen. The ride will last 3 minutes and be able to hold 14 people on its trains. If I had to compare it to something here in the U.S. as an example, it would probably be the new Arctic Rescue ride at Sea World San Diego. A fun family coaster with multiple launches that doesnt go too fast.

From The Editor

Would you be interested in buying a roller coaster/ride wheel? Just curious as an opportunity has come up for me to get this box of them! I’ve always wanted a wall of wheels as decoration.

These havn’t been used from what I can gather and are brand new. Let me know if you’re interested in buying one. Im thinking just $50 for a wheel and wanted to see how many people were interested in that price! Reply back to this email if interested and enough are, I’ll end up buying the lot of wheels!

Last week we asked how many Halloween events at theme parks you’ll be visiting and the most voted option was 1-3 park events.

Zambezi Zinger Now Open

Zambezi Zinger has been opening for testing this last week. However, it is only allowing passholders to ride during this testing period. Don’t attempt to visit the park hoping to get a ride on this new coaster. There’s no guarantee that it will be open for testing during your visit. On Monday it didn’t open until later in the evening for testing and had been closed most of the day.

Mine Blower Back Open At Fun Spot After Upgrade

Mine Blower at Fun Spot Kissimmee is finally back open after a very short upgrade period. For those that didn’t read a few weeks ago in this newsletter, we covered how the park was working with RMC again to upgrade their rather rough(from what we heard) coaster.

This newly refurbished coaster will have the I-Box from RMC installed in the spots that were the roughest. Hopefully this will make for a much smoother ride overall.

Titan Track Added at Beech Bend

Speaking of track improvements. Beech Bend recently got some Titan Track from Skyline Attractions added to its roller coaster, Kentucky Rumbler. The park, located in Kentucky, had ordered over 200 feet of Titan Track to improve its wooden roller coaster.

Budget for Universal in Texas Rumored To Be $550 Million!

The Dallas Business Journal is reporting that the budget for the Universal Park in Frisco Texas will be a whopping $550 million. This is a huge number for what is considered a micropark. Little is still known about what is going to be built in the park, we can guess based off the concept art released but that may change and most likely will. Universal has a history of announcing what they are building after we already know everything about the ride based off of permits and literally just watching it being built.

Joyland Amusement Park Selling Their Rides

Joyland Amusement Park in Texas is selling off their rides. This image was found on the Facebook page for a ride reseller. I kind of think these prices are a little hefty for rides as old as these. But then again I’m just guessing their value.

The owners of Joyland Amusement Park had wanted to retire and for the longest time had tried to find someone to buy the park. Eventually they found someone to buy it but sadly that offer fell through for reasons unknown.
