New $2 Billion Dollar Theme Park Announced

This new theme park will be located in Vinita, Oklahoma. It will be situated by the famous Route 66. The whole development will be 1,000 acres in size and that includes the theme park above which will be 125 acres, a 4 story hotel, indoor waterpark, and an extremely large campground/RV park.

The park is expected to cost $2 billion to bring to life. It will open in two stages, with the campground/RV park opening in 2025 and then in 2026 the theme park should open.

That is, if all goes according to plan. The park is very ambitious. I covered some of the cool things going on in this tiktok video. It’s being built by former Disney Imagineers so there’s a lot of inspiration from Disney in this park. Some of these inspirations include a log flume set around a mountain, a treehouse, and instead of a railroad that runs around the park there will be some sort of car ride(perhaps the same type of vehicles as the Cars ride at DCA?).

I believe the newest theme park built in the U.S. was Lost Island in Waterloo Iowa and that cost $100 million. That park is amazing but isn’t doing that well at the moment due to lack of crowds. That fact alone might put this new park on a self permanently or drastically decrease the scale of it to lower the price.

Track Arrives at Sea World Orlando For New Project

User OopsallVekoma posted a thread on reddit of some parts for the upcoming Sea World Orlando Project Toboggan on a truck. I’ve seen some other photos of these parts sitting around the park. I believe you can see them from areas the public can access so If I find myself at the park, I’ll take some pics to share!

What do we know about this ride so far? It’s going to be another B&M coaster. That means that Sea World Orlando will have 5 B&M roller coasters. This is unheard of but it seems that Sea World is very happy with how the rides have performed and probably most importantly, how guests have reacted to all the rides.

Dreamworks Land Announced at Universal Orlando

Universal has finally announced what characters they are replacing their Fievel’s Playland with. It’s going to be a mix of Shrek, Trolls, Kung Fu Panda, and Gabby. This newly remodeled land will open sometime in 2024.

It looks like Fievel’s Coaster is staying and will be rebranded to one of the above IP. The theater that housed Barney also appears to be mostly intact so I wonder what will go in there. The playstructures though in the area have been completely taken out.

So there will be a mix of re-skinned rides as well as new attractions in this area.

Last week we asked which theme park was better, Universal or Disney. Roughly 75% of you voted that Universal was the better theme park!

Cedar Point Teases New Top Thrill Dragster

Cedar Point has been teasing the crap out of this announcement it’s planning on making, most likely about the new version of Top Thrill Dragster it has been working on in secret. Although, it wouldn’t be beyond them to be posting all these teasers and then throw a random curve ball from left field and announce some very weird festival or something.

Kid Flash Cosmic Coaster Goes Vertical at Six Flags Fiesta Texas

The new Skyline Attractions coasters at Six Flags Fiesta Texas have recently gone vertical. These new dueling coasters should hopefully open sometime this year. These will be a family coaster as I think the max height on this is maybe 20-30 ft?

This will utilize Skyline Attractions unique coaster track design that should hopefully make for a fun experience. In addition to the track, this will also contain a lighting package that should make for a fun experience at night!

Cedar Fair Phasing Out Platinum Passes

Cedar Fair isn’t going to offer Platinum passes anymore. Instead, they will be offering the ‘All Park Passport’ as a premium season pass add-on. The add-on will cost $100 but can only be added on to a gold or prestige pass.

Currently the platinum pass is $290, the gold pass is $160 and the prestige pass is $375. So adding this All Park Passport on to a gold pass will actually save you money! Adding it to a Prestige pass will cost more money. Although, neither the gold or prestige pass currently offered guests access to all cedar fair parks.

Throwback to Our April Fools Prank Coco Concept Art

One of our first viral videos was when we pulled the ultimate April Fools prank on Disney World fans. We recreated the Grand Fiesta Tour at the Mexico Pavillion into a Coco ride. Making sure to re-create the exact ride vehicle path to help lend credibility to this idea. It caught on like wild fire and actually crashed our website. Zombie Being Renamed to Drakko: The Flying Beast

The former zombie coaster that we’ve talked about in the past is now named Drakko: The Flying Beast. It’s a SR2 coaster that moved from Mexico to Colombia when the park in Mexico shut down.

It reaches speeds of up to 100 km and I believe is now the tallest coaster in colombia!

Six Flags Employee Attacked After Accidental Bump, 3 Arrested

A Six Flags employee accidentally bumped into a guest at Six Flags Great America causing that employee to be attacked. This resulted in 3 people being taken into custody(an 18 year old male, 14 year old female and a 17 year old female).

Luckily the ride operator only sustained minor injuries according to the report

Please don’t attack ride operators, their lives are hard enough working in this extreme heat without you attacking them!
