Falcon’s Flight Coaster Vehicle Revealed

Intamin unvealed the ride vehicle for Falcon’s Flight. This coaster looks absolutely beautiful. I love how the eyes and the sides of it light up, making for amazing night rides!

Fun fact, the wheels were specially engineered for this ride. You see all the space for air to pass through? That’s so there’s extra heat dissipation allowed through the metal. These wheels are going to get hotttt. Both from being in the desert and going incredibly fast!

This ride looks bananas. Here are some of the stats from the press release.

I’ll be covering more about this ride in future newsletters!

New Theme Park In The U.S. Announced

A new theme park called Libertyland was just announced at IAAPA. It’s going to be built in the Black Hills in South Dakota. Fun fact, that area of the U.S. has virtually no theme parks and the closest one to this new one will be 4 or more hours away!

There appears to be 5 themed lands, Liberty Landing which is themed to the New England Seaside, Freedom Fair which is themed to a classic midway with attractions, Victory Field which pays tribute to the armed forces, Dakota Territory which is themed to the gold rush around the black hills, and lastly Black Hills which is a step back in time to explore our country’s heritage.

There will be at least 3 rollercoasters in the park, one of which is a large wooden coaster in the Freedom Fair area that will be joined by a smaller wild mouse looking coaster in the area as well. Then in the Dakota Territory there appears to be a mine train coaster that will take you inside and out of a mine.

Some of the other rides in the park include a pretty impressive looking log flume ride in the Dakota Territory, as well as a drop tower set next to a huge waterfall. There will be a river rapids ride with some of the coolest theming I’ve seen.

A parachute drop tower will be in the Victory Field section which pays homage to South Dakota being one of the places where paratroopers trained for world war 2.

In addition to the theme park, there will be a hotel, waterpark, rv resort, shopping and dining area, and a residential district. This mixed used development was created by Storyland Studios.

Other Vehicles Unvealed At IAAPA

There were a ton of other ride vehicles unvealed at the convention. Here’s just a brief sentence or two about the project and a picture of the vehicle.

This is what the new ride vehicle for Fire in the Hole 2 looks like. This will be going to Silver Dollar City in a brand new indoor rollercoaster. I actually skipped this press conference so I could get a front row seat to Falcon’s Flight unveal!

Here’s the ride vehicle for the new Transformers coaster going to a family entertainment center(FEC) in Saudi Arabia. This will be the world’s first axis coaster. I’ll cover more on this later.

This is the new Comet coaster for Hersheypark. Check out all the gold they used on this! This will replace the old trains on the coaster.

Good Gravy, now this looks like a fun coaster! Made to look like Grandma’s gravy dish, this coaster will be themed to Thanksgiving. This easily won over the hearts of most attendees.

B&M unvealed the new ride vehicle for Sea World Orlando’s new Penguin Trek coaster.

Here’s what another ride going to Six Flags Qiddiya looks like, this will be going on their wooden(or maybe hybrid) rollercoaster called Colossus!

From The Editor

Last week was the biggest Theme Park convention/conference in the world, IAAPA. They were kind enough to invite me out there as Media so I could cover it all and they had a ton of cool/new things!

You’ve already read a few of the newest parks/rides to be unvealed. There’s going to be a few more sections in this newsletter with more, but also stay tuned for future emails we there’s no way I can cover everything in just 1 email!

Coaster Wheel Contest Winner Unveiled!

We recently held a contest for one of the coaster wheels we bought from Dynamic Attractions. Everyone that was part of the newsletter automatically was entered for a chance to win. Well, I just used a random number generator to choose the winner!

The winner of our first ever coaster wheel contest is Marc Mapesd! We’ll be sending you an email in a bit to confirm the best shipping address for you!

For everyone else, if you still want a rollercoaster wheel you can always buy one from our Shop here or you can wait for another contest to come around if you’re feeling lucky! These wheels are limited and once we run out, I dont think I’ll ever be able to get them again.

Top Thrill 2 Trains Revealed

These look absolutely massive. The load bearing wheels look like their 18 inches across! They do kind of match the vehicle we saw in the concept art video but seeing it in person is still quite something! I believe I read somewhere that they will use carbon fiber in this coaster which could be a first!

Pin Traders At Disneyland Restricted

For awhile now, pin traders at Disneyland have been hated by park goers for taking up multiple benches in Frontierland. They would set up at these benches, spreading their pin books/boards over the whole bench. Sometimes they would be there for the whole day!

Well, Disneyland management may have finally taken notice of this disdain and made a new rule. Pin Traders may only bring a lanyard now a days to the parks to trade. And they for sure cannot take up park benches like previously.

I like to think that Disneyland saw our comic and that was the tipping point. For those of you that may have missed the comic, here it is again.

Last week we asked who was excited for IAAPA and most people were! 1 person did vote for ‘Banana’.

Kennywood Updating Their Bumper Cars To Food

Specifically, Kennywood will be transforming their bumper car ride to be themed around their iconic fresh-cut potato patch fries. What does this mean? Each of the 20 bumper cars will be fitted with fries, have some cheese sauce, and a huge oversized fork in the back.

This is pretty brilliant and I hope more parks transform their boring bumper cars into something fun like this. It might make a lot of financial sense too as this ride might get people very hungry for the fries at the park. Even the publicity about this announcement alone will probably get a ton of people that have never tried their fries to buy one!

Indiana Beach Starts To Test ‘All American Triple Loop’

This is an older picture I have of the ride, it doesn’t look like its under construction anymore.

Indiana Beach has had a heck of a time getting their used coaster they purchased, up and running. It’s been around a year since track installation was completed. But the park has finally begun testing their coaster and even released this youtube video of the ride.

While i usually love a couple camera changes in videos, this POV is frankly rediculous. It changes camera angles a ton and I swear even types of camera. Im hoping they will release a new POV of the ride soon that is way less camera switches than this one.
