Villains Land Officially Announced For Magic Kingdom

Josh D’Amaro saved the best announcement for last at D23. After years and years of fans wanting a Villains land (or 5th gate), Disney is finally making a Villains land!!!

This new land is probably the most ‘blue sky’ out of everything revealed at D23 but I have no doubt that there will be a villains land, whether or not it looks like the concept art is going to be up for debate.

There will be two major attractions at this new land and will including shopping and dining options.

How scary will this land be? Probably not too scary but it might lean more into it than we think, mainly because of the huge positive response Epic Universe received to their Dark Universe land.

Avatar Land Announced for Disneyland’s California Adventure

The Avatar land that Disney has been hinting at for awhile as part of their Disney Forward proposal has been announced. This will not be the same land we have at Animal Kingdom but apparently revolve more around the 2nd movie.

This new land will feature a boat ride most likely similar to Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Shanghai Disney. Where it’s a large boat that is on a track guided by magnets. The first image I posted above about it, could be the same room as in the Pirates ride where guests dive under water.

If it’s anything like the Pirates ride at Shanghai, it will be a huge hit and have constant 3 hour waits for it. As for where this is going, its long been rumored that it will either replace the Monsters ride at DCA or be put where the bus/tram drop off area will be. With Disney Foward approved, Disney will be moving the Tram/Bus drop off area across the street, with a bridge connnecting the drop off zone and the security station in front of the park. This would free up a huge amount of space for an Avatar themed land.

Monsters Inc Roller Coaster/Land Announced

A brand new and first of its kind Monsters Inc Land and ride have been announced. This new land will go to Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World and we’re not sure yet where in the park it will go. Some speculate it could take over the Muppets Courtyard, the launch bay, or even Rock n Rollercoaster.

The new land will contain the first ever suspended rollercoaster for Disney Parks. I’m almost thinking that instead of the classic suspended coaster we currently see in the concept art above, it could be more like the How to Train Your Dragon coaster at Motiongate, where it’s a mix of a suspended coaster and a Mack spinning coaster but with a controlled motion like Cosmic Rewind.

Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic Announced for Disneyland

A new animatronic show is coming to Disneyland featuring an actual Walt Disney animatronic. There will be a turn table added to the Great Moments with Lincoln show and from what I gather, the first few months will be nothing but the Walt Disney side performing. Later on as excitement dies down, it will switch to a mixture of some Abe Lincoln shows and some Walt Disney shows.

I’m super hyped for this because I think Walt Disney would’ve absolutely loved having an animatronic made after him AND guests being super excited to see it. I think this will be a great refresher to the Lincoln theater and bring back excitement there.

New Cars Land Announced For Magic Kingdom

A Cars themed land is coming to the Magic Kingdom with 2 Rides, one of which seems to be similar to Radiator Springs Racers at DCA. This new main attraction doesnt appear to be a clone though, as it will take guests through mountains, geysers, and more. Instead of visiting Radiator Springs you’ll be headed to the northwest.

Here’s the kicker though, It is most likely going to replace Tom Sawyers Island. That’s right, the Rivers of America at Disney World are most likely going to be filled and make way for this land and the Villains land I talked about at the start of the newsletter.

More Details For Tropical Americas At Animal Kingdom

We got more information about the already announced Tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom. It was announced back at the 2022 D23 convention (why havnt they started building anything yet….).

The Indiana Jones retheme of Dinosaur has been announced to be a new story. You’ll go to a Maya Temple and encounter a mythical creature, and most likely have to run away from it!

Encanto will be some sort of dark ride attraction, it seems like it could be a boat ride but that may change. You’ll be going into the Casita and checking out Antonio’s room which has been transformed into a rainforest!

Lion King To Get Log Flume and Land at Disneyland Paris

The Lion King is getting it’s own land at Disneyland Paris’ second theme park. In the land there will be a ride similar to Splash Mountain/Tiana’s Bayou. This land takes over the space that the previously announced Star Wars land was going to be built on. The Lion King is such a big hit at Paris that this land was a no brainer and long long rumored to be on the table.

It’s the Circle of Concept Art.

Avengers Get Rides Around The World

Each one of these rides deserves its own section here but I’ll probably go over them in more detail later when Disney releases more Information.

On the left, we have what looks like a drop tower Spiderman themed ride going to Hong Kong Disneyland. That park does not have a Tower of Terror ride so it would theoretically be getting a brand new tower made just for this ride.

In the middle and right we have a Spiderman coaster going to Shanghai Disney. This will most likely be like Cosmic Rewind at Epcot. It’s placement will most likely be somewhere near the new Zootopia land. This will be the first Marvel area of Shanghai.

Looks like the Infinity War inspired dark ride at DCA about King Thanos is back on the table! Disney released more concept art and a ride model of the vehicle. It appears to be similar to Spiderman at Universal Studios Orlando. A dark ride vehicle with high walls that takes you through real environments as well as screens. Will this ride actually get built since it’s been delayed so long?

Also at DCA is a Kooka arm ride. This will be themed to Stark’s Flight Lab. Guests will be taken around the studio and given a ride in style. Tony Stark will be there as Robert Downey Jr. will be filming exclusive scenes for this ride and bringing back his famous character.

New Night Time Parade Coming To Magic Kingdom

A brand new night time parade is coming to the Magic Kingdom. It’s going to be called Disney Starlight and will feature all the characters you love like Encanto, Frozen, and more! A night time parade has been desperately needed at the Magic Kingdom. I think it should give kids something else to be excited for when the sun begins to set. Plus with everyone waiting for the parade, the lines for rides should be lower for the rest of us!

Coco Attraction Coming to Disneyland’s California Adventure

A Coco ride is coming to Disneyland’s California Adventure! This will be a brand new ride, not replacing any existing ride. The concept art of this seems to be similar to the Coco ride concept we made which is okay with us! I think a boat ride just makes sense for Coco, its just a shame they didn’t retheme the Grand Fiesta Tour with Coco like we envisioned.

The placement for this ride at DCA is rumored to be behind Toy Story Mania somewhere along that back wall of DCA.
