Blue Coming To Disney, Carowinds Permanently Closes 3 Rides, Kingda Ka Permits Filed, and More!

Bluey Coming To Disney World/Land/and Cruises

The world of Bluey is coming to Disney Parks and Disney Cruises beginning in 2025. What does this mean? This addition has been described as a way for guests to interact with Bluey and Bingo.

Does this mean Bluey is getting a ride or a themed land? Probably Not

It’s probably going to more be a character meet n greet spot that is most likely themed to the Heeler House(or other scene from the tv show).

In addition to this, only guests on Disney Cruises originating from Australia and New Zealand will be able to interact with Bluey. All other originations will not have Bluey and friends on board.

Will Bluey ever have its own themed land inside a Disney park? Well, the odds of this arn’t zero. The Disney company is acquiring the global rights for the Bluey movie that is being worked on and expected to enter theaters in 2027. We know that Disney plans to invest billions in its parks and it just makes sense to add in IP that kids love. It’s not a big jump to think that Disney may announce a future Bluey ride or themed land.

Carowinds Announces Permanent Closure of 3 Rides

Carowinds has announced that Nighthawk, Drop Tower, and Scream Weaver will permanently close at the park. This follows ride closures at many other Six Flags parks around the country.

Nighthawk will probably be the most missed ride of this lineup being closed. It’s a Flying rollercoaster that will be missed by some (not my wife, she hates that style of coaster).

The park has not announced that these ride closures will result in something else built in their place. Instead this is probably a cost saving move to reduce ride operations costs and shift employees from these rides to others.

The park does have plans to add a new family rollercoaster and a water ride in 2025 and then sometime in 2026 a “record breaking water ride”. By removing these 3 rides, they are freeing up some funds to potentially pay for these new additions.

This Week’s Sponsor, Nike! I honestly use their shoes a TON while at theme parks, so this sponsorship just made sense! If you don’t wear comfy shoes at theme parks, you’re doing it wrong!

From The Editor

Didn’t have time still to work on any additional content from IAAPA. I also recently broke my phone so that hindered me greatly this past week, and there were baby pictures on it that weren’t backed up! Luckily, I’ve been told the pictures most likely can be transferred to a new phone and that is happening as I type this. Expect an additional newsletter or two in this coming week with more news and stories!

Recently Went to Great Wolf Lodge in Naples Florida

I recently stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in Naples Florida last weekend. I was lucky enough that they hosted my stay so I could experience this delightful resort! If you have kids, you will love this resort! If you’re just two adults, you won’t have as much fun.

This resort has some amazing things for kids to do, an Indoor waterpark, an indoor adventurepark, minigolf, a large arcade, Magiquest, and so much more. My kids are 2 years old and 3 months old. So they were honestly a little young to enjoy everything the lodge had to offer. My 2 month old though did love the waterpark, they had a special little kids section, and she loved the lazy river!

I think the absolutely perfect age range for this lodge is 3-16 years old. I’m kind of just guessing on the older part of that age range, but I think its fairly accurate. I think this range gives everyone a lot to do at the hotel.

The hotel itself was very nice and while we did stay two nice and basically 3 days, we actually didn’t need to leave at all to get anything. The hotel had everything we needed in one place. They had some amazing food options for the kids and at night we had some great dinner at their more parent focused restaurant.

Would I stay at a Great Wolf Lodge again? Absolutely but I’ll be waiting probably another year until my 2 year old is a little taller and older. After that, I think we’ll try to visit a lodge once a year(trying to hit up a different one each time). I do think it’s a great family bonding experience. The motto of Great Wolf is “strengthen the pack’ and I think it does just that!

I’ll be talking more about my stay in other newsletters, including POV”s of all the slides, a resort tour, and more!

I have some extra wolf ears I got from the lodge that I’ll be sending to the first few people that reply to this email with “Owoooooo” and their mailing address!

Kingda Ka Permits Filed

Permits for Kingda Ka have finally been filed with the state. One interesting thing about these permits is that they list the type of work being done as ‘Alteration’. Meanwhile the other permits for Green Lantern and the other rides have been filed as ‘Demolition’. This could mean that they plan to reuse certain elements of the ride. Perhaps some of the support system, the track, or the ride station.

The point of re-using any of these elements would be to reduce cost of whatever it is they are building in the spot. I still stand to believe they will do something similar to Top Thrill 2, thats not based off anything other than a gut feeling.
