Epic Universe Unveils New Harry Potter Land: Ministry Of Magic

This new land is something interesting. It takes place in two different eras, part of it is with Newt Scamander while he’s in Paris, but then it jumps to the British Ministry of Magic from the original Harry Potter films.

I for one always heard the long standing rumor that the Ministry of Magic ride they were always planning would go where the Fear Factor stage was and that’s why it closed down. Apparently though, they added it here in this new land.

The streets of Paris look absolutely amazing in the video and I love that there will be tons of great window displays. I love that there is a new wizarding restaurant, the French named Butterbeer, and a French version of Ollivanders.

What I think might be the greatest part is that we will have an Indoor show for the Wizarding World! In the hot Florida sun, that will be amazingggg.

Lastly, I like that the Battle for the Ministry of Magic ride seems like an original story. I won’t spoil here what that story is, you’ll have to watch the video I linked above to check it out. But it seems like a perfect story, especially for those in it!

We now know what every land at the park will be about, and I’ll be recapping this in a future newsletter.

Disneyland Workers Recently Won A 31% Raise

Thousands of Disneyland workers recently threatened to strike at the park. They held rallies around the park(not officially a strike) to demonstrate that they were willing to strike.

This resulted in the minimum wage at the park increasing from $19.90 to $26 an hour, after 3 years in time. That means in 3 years the minimum wage will be $26. Most contracts at the park will get bumped up to $24 immediately.

This news came from the Master Services Council which has 14,000 members of the Disneyland Resort area in its roster.

Kings Dominion Announces New Rollercoaster: Rapterra

This brand new launched wing coaster will take guests up to speeds of 65 mph. It will be a partially themed ride which I love! Other great elements will include a 145 ft wingover turn, a 119 ft dive loop, 90 ft s-turn, a huge wing slide, flat sping corkscrew, and a raptor roll!

This ride will open sometime in 2025

This will make a great addition to the park which already has such a diverse amount of rollercoasters. It will fit in well with the Jungala section of the park that it’s going in.

We asked you what type of merchandise you collect and here are the responses. T-shirts won with 55% of the vote, coffee cups came in second with 22% of the vote, and everything else was about the same (magnets, pins, stickers, park maps)

Cedar Point Closes Snake River Falls For Expansion

Tony Clark recently announced that Snake River Falls at Cedar Point would be closing on September 2nd, 2024(that’s its last day of operation). The ride had been in operation for 31 seasons.

"Snake River Falls will permanently end its operation on Labor Day, September 2, 2024, as we make way for future expansion,"

We don’t know yet what this new expansion is, but I’m honestly hoping for another water ride. With Snake River Falls closing, it would leave only 1 water ride operating at the park, the river raft ride.

I’m hoping that they might do a launched log flume coaster like the one at Sea World San Antonio. I think that would be a great mix of water ride and rollercoaster for what some people call the Rollercoaster Capital of the world.
